Depending on the services requested, Dr. Lee’s fees usually range between $100 and $200 per session. Sessions are usually approximately 50 minutes long. Psycho-educational assessments (i.e., for children struggling at school) are charged a flat rate. The client accepts responsibility for any missed appointments and will be charged for a session if an appointment is missed without adequate notification.
For consultations or therapy, payment is due at the end of each session. For assessments, payment is due when the assessment is completed and the assessment report is delivered. Payment may be made by either cash or cheque. A receipt is provided when payment is made. If a cheque is returned, the client is also responsible for any associated banking charges. Past due interest will be charged at the rate of 1% per month on the unpaid balance after 30 days. Unpaid balances after 90 days may be sent to a collection agency.
Depending on your personal situation, you may have private insurance coverage (e.g., Blue Cross, Green Shield, Manulife) for psychological services. The amount of services covered varies widely between insurance companies. It is important to check with your insurance company prior to the first appointment to determine what services (e.g., therapy or assessments) qualify for re-imbursement, what is the maximum rate per session (often expressed hourly), and what is the maximum charge per year per person. Due to the number of different insurance companies, and the number of different payment plans, Dr. Lee will not bill directly to an insurance company for your services. A receipt will be provided and you may submit the receipt to the insurance company for re-imbursement directly to you.
